Club A.G.M.

Our Adult Club AGM took place on last Friday 12th December in Aghavine, a large crowd attended. Secretary Liam Leahy gave a detailed and comprehensive report on 2014 and Treasurer Tom Finns detailed report showed the Club to be financially very healthy due in no small way to last years Club Development Draw and the fantastic ongoing success of our weekly Club Lottto which was launched last January, both Officers were congratulated on their superb reports. Our Chairman John V. Aherne in his Address congratulated and thanked all of our Teams Managements, Players, fellow Officers, Executive Comm. Members, the local Pubs and Shops who facilitate us with the selling of our Lotto tickets and everybody else who contributed to the ongoing running of the Club for their hard work and efforts over the past 12 months. He Congratulated our Intermediate Hurlers on wining the Div. 3 Hurling Lge. and with it gaining promotion to Div. 2 for next year he also paid tribute to Denis O Flynn on his retirement from Refereeing after 34 years and to Paddy McMahon who is taking a sabbatical from his tireless work as Medic to all Teams with the last number of years presentations were made to both Denis and Paddy at last week’s Dinner Dance. He went on to thank John Hayes who is also taking a break after 3 years from Co. Adult Board and Coiste Og Centrall Board Rep. Our Chairman also stated how disappointed everybody in the Club was with the decision by An Board Pleanála 2 weeks ago to again refuse us planning permission for our proposed Development in Lisquinlan and again reiterated that it was every Club Members desire and wish to one day own our own Fields and Facilities and that no stone will be left unturned to make this a reallity in time to come. He thanked all present for their attendance and wished everybody involved the best of luck for next year. The election of Officers then took place with all of the outgoing returned except Michael Holland our Cultural Officer who will be appointed early in the New Year by the incoming Executive, Maurice Conway who is replacing John Hayes will act as Co. Board Rep. along with our other Rep. Tom Finn with Matty Kenneally and Dan O Connor sharing Coiste Og Central Board duties, The Comm. was then elected and it can be viewed on our website. The Managements for our various Teams were then put in place and are as follows:

Intermediate Hurling: Manager: Dave Colbert, selectors Ray O Neill and Bryan Sweeney with Marty O Keeffe as fitness Coach.

Junior Hurling: Manager: Seamus Joyce selector Dan Griffin with 1 more joining them.

Fe 21 Hurling: Intermediate Mgnt. with Tom Finn joining them.

Minor Hurling: Manager: Brian O Driscoll with Colin Buckley and Miceal Broderick as Selectors.

 

Junior Football: yet to be appointed.

 

Fe 21 Football: Manager: Shane Harrington who will appoint 2 fellow selectors.

 

Minor Football: as Hurling.

 

Golf Society

Our Xmas Singles outing takes place on Sun. 28th Dec. in Youghal Golf Club from 11:00am to 12:30pm, the time sheet for this outing is now in O’Flynn’s Mace Srv. Station.

Long Puc.

This years Long Puc takes place on St. Stephen's day starting in Ballymacoda at 12:30pm, Teams of 3 with prizes for 1st. 2nd and 3rd and for the leading Juvenile Team, proceeds go to a local Charity.

Cork Co. Board

Congratulations to Mr. Ger. Lane on his appointment as Chairman of the Co. Board and to Ms. Tracey Kennedy on her appointment as Vice - Chairman along with all the other appointments that took place at last Sunday's convention, the draw for all of next years Co. C/ships. took place and we were drawn against Milford in the 1st  rnd. of next years Intermediate Hurling C/ship. The losers of this rnd. will play the losers of Meelin v Dripsey in the 2nd rnd. These 1st rnd. Games are played in and around the June Bank Holiday weekend.
