Intermediate Hurling Club All Ireland semi-final:
Now that the dust has settled on the magnificent journey that our Premier Intermediate Hurlers took us on it is time to acknowledge the people who made it all possible, firstly the Players each and everyone of the 37 strong panel who displayed unbelievable commitment, desire and heart from our 1st rnd. game last April v Ballincollig right through their County campaign, Munster campaign and culminating with their cruel harsh loss to Tullaroan in the All Ireland Final on Sat. 18th Jan. Their resolve was hugely evident late on v Blarney in the Co. ½ final, v Blackrock in Kilfinane in the 1st rnd. of the Munster series and again in Tullamore v Tooreen in the AI semi-final even in the AI Final when all looked lost they rallied and fought to the bitter end we take our hats off to each and every one of ye lads ye did yourselves, your Families, your Club and our Parish proud. Next up are the Intermediate Mgmt. Team of Dave Colbert & Bryan Sweeney joint managers and selectors, Bob Murphy selector, James O’Connor Coach / Trainer / selector and Billy Murphy S & C and dietitian the time and effort put in by the 5 lads right throughout the campaign had to be seen to be believed, their no nonsense but very fair and approachable attitude towards all the panel meant that the best was got out of every player in every game, the preparation and attention to detail was there to be seen by all and they led by example week in week out which played a big part in the overall success of the Team. The lads were ably assisted by a strong and committed back room Team which consisted of Collette Garvey Physio, Shane Donnelly Medic. Mai Colbert, Paul Colbert and Jer. Holland Stats, Maor Uisce / Maor Camans Fergal Duffy and John O’Driscoll all of which were there to support both the players and Mgmt. Team at all times. A massive word of Thanks must go also to all of the hugely generous sponsorship received from the many business’s and individuals both from within the Parish and the surrounding East Cork area all of which helped in no small way towards the large costs associated with the Teams preparation and welfare especially in the Munster and All Ireland series. All of these people were recognized at the time and were given plenty of exposure through our social media outlets. A special word of Thanks must go to Margaret & Denis O’Flynn & family of O’Flynns MACE shop and service station Ladysbridge, Their generosity has been exceptional to say the least since coming on board as the Clubs main sponsor last summer. For us as officers and Committee members the joy and excitement associated with the lads right throughout their journey was most satisfying and rewarding with some fantastic days and weekends being had, all of which will live long in the memory, Lastly all of our Juvenile and Adult members, their families along with a huge portion of the people of the Parish, Margaret and all of her staff in Kilcredan N.S. Midleton CBS, the wider East Cork area, CRY104 Youghal, 96FM & C103FM, The Midleton & Youghal News publications, The East Cork Journal, Cork Examiner, Evening Echo and many more deserve a huge word of Thanks also for their fantastic support and exposure ye all helped in no small way to put Fr. O’Neills along with Ladysbridge & Ballymacoda firmly on the map. If I have omitted any persons or groups I sincerely apologize. So its Senior A Hurling for the coming season with the 1st rnd. of the championship v Kilworth being penciled in for the weekend of the 18th / 19th April, the best of luck to all the players and their Mgmt. Team for the year ahead.
